In this 8-week class, participants will learn to create unique, sculptural Chia Pets that are not only works of art but also living sculptures! Ideal for intermediate handbuilders who want to explore the intersection of ceramics and plant life. Using terra cotta clay, students will design and construct sculptures specially shaped to support the growth of chia seeds. Through handbuilding techniques such as coiling, sculpting, and carving, participants will craft their own “pottery that grows.” By the end of the course, students will have a living sculpture they can proudly display. **This class requires terra cotta clay, not included. Ask our retail staff to help you pick an appropriate clay body.
