Join Tony for this venture into making architectural elements for your home! Think mantles, corbels, sconces, basins, arches. Come with a couple of ideas sketched out with dimensions. Tony will help you pick the most feasible choice and design your project. Projects must fit on a 2x4 workspace and be completed within the 8-week class session, so keep that in mind when developing your ideas. You will learn techniques specific to making architectural work including how to prep properly for large heavy objects, assemble and join slabs so they become BFFs, and use dies and templates for shaping objects like rails and mantles. This class is physically demanding. You must be able to lift 50lbs. Recommended tools: metal ribs- flexible metal, flexible serrated & fine serrated; red, yellow, blue mudribs; needle tool; chopsticks; large metal painter’s edge; 16x24 steel carpenter square. Groggy sculpture clay highly recommended, retail staff can help you pick!
