Hunter Green Velvet Underglaze is an emerald color that is vivid at cone 05, darkens to a deep blue-green at 5, and becomes slightly darker, developing a sheen at 10. A clear glaze deepens the color of the underglaze significantly at any temperature.
For Hunter Green Velvet Underglaze, we recommend using HF-9 Zinc Free Clear. If HF-10 Clear is used, color may shift.
HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear is recommended for use with underglazes to reduce the incidence of color shift. Most underglazes, stains, and coloring oxides will show their best color with Zinc-Free Clear.
Tableware producers must test all finished ware to establish dinnerware status, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.
