Join the Queen City Clay crew for a deep dive into the endless possibilities of handbuilding! Get hands-on with multiple techniques including coiling and slabs, experiment with templates and molds, and master skills you can take back to the classroom. We’ll also play with mixing up different construction methods to create unique forms.
Want to earn 3 hrs of grad credit for this class? Stay for the whole week by registering for our Reign of Fire Workshop in conjunction with the Handbuilding workshop. Continue on Thursday with Mayco sharing glazing products and techniques you can use in the classroom. You’ll then get to learn about and fire in EVERY KILN we have -including electric, gas, and atmospheric kilns. AND you’ll be able to attend 2 days of demos by nationally recognized ceramic artists Heidi McKay Casto, Fong Choo, and Naomi Peterson while the kilns are firing!!!
Pairing the workshops is optional if you don’t need the grad credit. Longer format means less intense days for those applying for credit. A link to register for credit through Ashland University will be emailed to you once available. Graduate credit is $185 per credit hour.
