QCC is excited to offer a unique opportunity this summer!!! The Reign of Fire workshop, sponsored by Mayco, will be a 4 day glazing & firing extravaganza. In conjunction with the workshop we are bringing in 3 renowned artists - Heidi Mckay Casto, Naomi Peterson, & Fong Choo- who will demonstrate and talk about their work with a focus on surfaces on Friday & Saturday. The visiting artist portion of the worksop is included in your workshop pass. If you’d like to take part in the firing portion, starting Wednesday, you can add it on at any time with a lab fee of $85. More details to come as it gets closer.

Born in England, Mark Hewitt has been making wood fired pots using locally sourced materials in Pittsboro, NC since 1983.  He’s known for his large planters, jars, and vases combining a contemporary style that merges various traditions, including English, North Carolinian, and those from his travels in Asia and Africa. Please join us for this two-day workshop as Mark Hewitt demonstrates and talks about his work.
