PCF-74 River Birch is a glossy cream glaze with runny dark specks like the bark of a tree. River Birch breaks across textured surfaces and develops a peachy float when thick. Great for layering with other glazes as a base or top coat.
TIP: Image 3 shows PCF-74 River Birch (2 coats) over PC-15 Satin Oribe (2 coats) at cone 6.
Beautiful on any color of clay; very fluid at cone 5, more so at cone 6. Glaze fire to Cone 5-6. Due to variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch number of glaze.
Based on the widely popular PC-17 Honey Flux glaze, all of the colors in the Potter's Choice Flux glaze series line are the perfect addition to any potter's glaze tool box. These glazes are beautiful on textured surfaces where the glazes can break and show the clay body color.
The PCF's are great for layering with other Potter’s Choice glazes, AMACO Celadons, or AMACO Shino glazes. These glazes can be used alone or layered to soften the colors of other glazes and increase flow.

Cone 5 = 1184°C (at 150°C/hour for the final 100°C of firing) / 2201°F ( at 270°F/hour in the final 200°F of firing)
Cone 6 = 1241°C (at 150°C/hour for the final 100°C of firing) / 2266°F ( at 270°F/hour in the final 200°F of firing)
