When Mudtools founder, Michael, first visited Japan in the 1980's, he fell in love with the simplicity of the Japanese style kanna trim tool. Subsequently, he spent years afterwards altering and remaking his own trimming tools to better suit his various needs. These efforts eventually resulted in this elegant, versatile pottery tool.

The sharpened, more familiar kanna spade shape provides an excellent, precise cutting edge, especially for working details around the foot of tea bowls, bowls and plates.
