Aqua Liquid Underglaze is a soft blue green that is very pastel at cone 05, becomes a much deeper blue green while fluxing into a soft glaze-like surface at cone 6, and ends up losing a lot of color at cone 10.

Though the underglaze does become glaze-like, a clear gloss glaze can give Aqua an impeccably smooth surface with good color at cone 05 and cone 6, but can burn out some of the color at cone 10.

For LUG-26 Aqua Underglaze, we recommend using HF-9 Zinc Free Clear. If HF-10 Clear is used, color may shift.

HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear is recommended for use with underglazes to reduce the incidence of color shift. Most underglazes, stains, and coloring oxides will show their best color with Zinc-Free Clear.

Safety Warning: Tableware producers must test all finished ware to establish dinnerware status, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.

Though the underglaze does become glaze-like, a clear gloss glaze can give Lilac an impeccably smooth surface and can help preserve some of the color at cone 10.

These colors will cover large areas quickly. Also great for detailed painting, sgraffito, watercolor effects, wax resist, and mishima decoration. AMACO LUG's may be brushed on wet clay, greenware, or on mature cone 04 bisqueware.
